This year, Sister Dinh Nghiêm will continue her teachings on the sutras presented in the book Chants du Coeur (available in French and Vietnamese), which is organized differently from the English version Chanting from the Heart. These teachings are offered as part of the Days of Mindfulness (DOM) and will be accessible online via Zoom. In 2026, the talks will be offered with simultaneous translation in English and Chinese, making the teachings accessible to a wider community.
The teachings form one part of the Day of Mindfulness; the other activities throughout the day are held in French. The full schedule and the details are available on the French program page. Dates highlighted in yellow indicate weeks that include a recitation of the 14 Mindfulness Trainings, while the other dates correspond to regular DOM.

Sister Dinh Nghiêm spent her adolescence in France. She first went to Plum Village in 1985 and was ordained as a monastic in 1993. In 1999, she became a Dharma teacher, receiving the Lamp of Transmission directly from Thich Nhat Hanh. In 2000, at New Hamlet, she became the youngest abbess of Plum Village. After Thay's stroke in 2014, she was one of his closest attendants and remained by his side until his passing in 2022. Sister Dinh Nghiem said :
"Just after founding the monastic community, Thay (Thich Nhat Hanh) devoted three three-month retreats (1989-1990, 1990-1991, and 1991-1992) to teaching all the sutras of the Southern school (now called Theravada) and the Northern school (Mahayana). After these in-depth studies, Thay made a selection and compiled a chanting book in Vietnamese for each day of the week, morning and evening. This was a revolutionary act as, for the first time after several centuries in China and more than a century in Vietnam, the traditional chanting book was revised. It was translated into French following the same format, from Monday morning to Sunday evening. This is Chants du Coeur, which many of you already know. Thay then spent two additional three-month retreats (1997-1998, 1998-1999) carefully explaining all the sutras and chants in this collection. These teachings given in Vietnamese have not yet been published. Sister Dinh Nghiem translated this work, as well as all of Thay's teachings from that period. Today, aware of the deep wish among her long-time French-speaking friends to undertake a thorough study of the sutras, one of the Three Baskets taught by the Buddha, Sister Dinh will, in turn, offer online teachings on the sutras of Chants du Coeur. Sister Dinh Nghiem hopes that these courses will deepen the understanding and strengthen the practice of Thay's beloved French-speaking Sangha.
